I used to use a Rowenta travel iron and loved it. Apparently they are no longer available. This little iron got really hot and was a good size to use in quilting. Any ideas for an iron that works just as well? What do others use? Really would like to find a small and reliable one like my other.

I finally broke down and bought a full size Rowenta. Can't see that it's any better than my old Black & Decker. I haven't seen any travel irons around for quite a while. Maybe in thrift stores?

I bought a Rowenta travel iron at Bed, Bath and beyond a few months ago.

I bought one off Craigslist. I love it. It is a steam and dry with a mister and has plug adapters for overseas.

I agree, it is much hotter than my regular iron.

I have a White travel iron that I bought at Hancocks a number of years ago. It gets nice and hot. Don't know if it is still available, but I really like it.

Have you looked on Ebay for a travel size or older iron. I have quite a few and really like them. Just be sure and read the descriptions thoroughly and check the seller's feedback and you shouldn't have any problems. You can also check out the thrift shops where you live and if you're lucky you can find some really great older irons for $2 - $5...just ask to plug them in and make sure they heat up. I prefer the older irons to the ones today and have never had a problem with them. Plus you don't have to deal with the darn automatic shutoff.

I have a Black and Decker Travel Pro...I love it...it has a handle that folds down, can use dry or with steam.

I bought my travel sized iron at Wal-Mart. It had the basic settings and was great for keeping at my sewing table. When it finally died, I went back to Wal-Mart to replace it but was told that it was a "seasonal" item!?!?

I've been using the Rowenta First Class travel size iron and love it for pressing blocks, etc. Still use a full size iron for larger work. I know this is still available because I saw it at either Walmart or Joann's within the last couple of weeks. I think I actually got mine at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Black and Decker must have bought White out, because this is the same iron as my White. Neat little iron and mine gets hot.
