Travelling to the Seattle area

In about a month, I will be travelling to the Seattle area. Where should I go for fun quilt shops in the area?

Oh...This should be fun!!!!
Quilt shops only or some other fun things to do?
Are you visiting family?
PM me as I would love to help you make some plans.

LOL there are so many shops in the area. I hope you bring at least 1 empty suitcase. At Evergreen in Tacoma, every purchase comes with chocolate. Judy says they go together and who am I to disagree. And the one in Port Gamble is so neat and so is the scenery. Oh and the one in Kingston. I love quilt shops. Have a good time.

Wish I were going with you as my son lives and works there. Guess I should ask him if he knows of any quilt shops but I doubt that he would as he works in the food industry and doesn't get much free time. Have a great time and buy what you cannot get locally.

There is a great free app for phone or ipod from Quilters Club of America. If you or anyone in your party has one, do download the app. If you are going to be near Puyallup there is a shop there, actually it's Graham WA, which I think is part of Puyallup. We went there in 2011 to visit my DD who taught at the school right near the shop. It's not huge, but has a nice selection and of course sweet helpful people working there. One of them helped me find background fabric for my butterfly quilt to go with fabric and pattern I'd bought in Kalispell MT on our trip west. Have a great time. We loved the area, especially going to Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helen's and visiting a friend in Gig Harbor. Be sure to have lunch in the restaurant way up in the Space Needle - a bit pricy, but fabulous experience. Hubby was nervous about the glass elevator, but delighted with the whole experience.

Take the ferry across the sound and go to Port Gamble. They have the biggest quilt shop there. When I go see my daughter I always stop there. It's in a huge building that looks like a barn. I don't recall the name of the place. You take the Edmond's Ferry from Seattle. Also, while you are over there - go to Poulsbo and go to Heirloom's Quilts. It's right downtown on 18833-B Front Street. It's a nice quilt shop. About an hour from Port Gamble. Pretty country around Port Gamble and Poulsbo, WA. You don't have to take the ferry, but it's faster than driving around the sound.

Yup, the quilt shop in Port Gamble is so worth the drive. The name of the shop is Quilted Strait Quilt Shop. It is a fabulous quilt shop. It is about 30 minutes north of Poulsbo on Highway 3. Enjoy!

Gig Harbor is a neat town to visit and has a quilt shop, Harbor Quilts. In puyallup is a big shop, on Main named Quilt Barn. Silverdale has The Material Girls, in the Kitsap Mall area. Material Girls is a great shop. Poulsbo has a shop, Seattle does have some shops but you will have to look them up in the phone book, I never get up to Seattle.
