It's on page 501 of Barbara Brackman's "Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns"---#4041, Lotus Star--attributed to "Grandma Dexter". Our featured quilt appears to have white sashing between the blocks.

This doesn't look like a China Quilt. I had one of those until recently. This was done by someone who was doing this quilt with love.

That is an awesome find...

Great find! When I go to the thrift shops I always go to the linens to see what I can rescue. So far I've rescued a baby quilt and several table runners all of which were hand quilted. Such treasures.

I think whoever made it would be thrilled that someone found it who could appreciate the work that went into it and would love it enough to use it rather than having it with the person who donated it.

still, we should be aware that many quilts found in thrift stores are going to be China quilts. There are thousands of them that were sold, if someone only paid "bedspread" price for it (less than $50) they won't have any compunction about donating it.

Also a lot of imported quilts are being sold on Ebay as vintage.

Still nice for decorating though, if they hold together.

Great find and I am glad your quilt inspector approves. I have some blocks and tops I have rescued and cherish them, even if they are not put together yet!

Someone did not know what a treasure they had, did they? Congratulations on your find. Love it.
