Tree Skirt

I have been wanting to make a Christmas tree skirt with Santa's on it. I have been looking for a preprinted fabric to make one but I have been unsuccessful. So now I'm thinking that if I can find some fabric that I could make one from that but I'm not sure how I would go about it. Can someone help with this?

a guild member showed a beautiful one today... she had smaller pieces of holiday pictures appliqued to or pieced into the triangles. it looked beautiful. many of the pictures had white shiny snow like enhancement. once your skirt is quilted, you wouldn't be able to see the piecing if that is the method you choose.

McCall's has some great patterns at JAF. I bought a tree skirt pattern there years ago & I believe the person Nan referenced also used a McCall's pattern as her base. In my opinion, it's just too hard to get a nice circle that large without something to work off of. This is one of the few times in quilting where I truly believe a paper pattern helps.
