Triangle Frenzy size?
 

Hello:
Does anyone know of a way to estimate finished size of a Triangle Frenzie table topper based on the pattern repeat? I just finished one with a 10 1/2 repeat that is about 46 x 20 1/2 inches. Have another piece of fabric with a 12 3/4 repeat. The width will be about 25 1/2 but the length puzzles me.
Love the sharing of knowledge on this board. No end to the things one can learn.

By my calculations, it should be just over 56" long.

There should be a formula to figure that one out. I have made many and they are all a different size. That is OK with me but to know ahead of time would be nice.

The formula is 1.15 x (repeat - 0.5) x 4.

If you're using a different version of the pattern, such as the Triangle Frenzy Swirl table runner, the 4 will change to the number of triangles long it is.

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I will surely try the formula. A larger repeat does make a rather large table topper. May have to cut strips narrower and give up some pattern. Unless one has an "antique" most tables are small.

Not only is there a formula, but I have an entire spreadsheet for all these numbers.

Would this type of formula be useful on the patterns?
I am just afraid that the variations in rulers, seam allowances and such would lead to confusion if the finished size turned out to be different than the calculations. But that is no different than any other pattern, right?
You may have just talked me into including it?

Triangle Frenzy® patterns Simplified formula by Bunnie
 

Triangle Frenzy® Simplified formula for estimating size:
Width = (strip width - 0.5”) x number of triangles wide
(Swirl and Runner is two, Hexagon and Whirlwind are four)

Length = (strip width - 0.5” seam allowance) x 1.15 x number of triangles long
(Swirl is 3, Runner, Hexagon, and Whirlwind are four)

Keep in mind that these are approximations, and actual finished size varies depending on cutting and sewing variations. This formula will give you a rough estimate of what finished size to expect for your Triangle Frenzy® projects!
