Triangles are short
 

I just completed an Ozark Star - triangles and diamonds.

There is a triangle in the center with a diamond on each side. When I sew the triangle edge to the diamond I match up the corners. It all lines up and matches.

The unsewn or 'free' edge of the triangle is shorter or less than 1/4 inch remaining to sew in the block than the 'free' edge of the diamonds.

if everything is cut correctly and your seam allowance is sewn correctly, the only other thing to try would be pressing the seams. either toward the triangle or perhaps open. Good luck.

Have you checked for pattern corrections? Sometimes there are updates we don't catch prior to cutting.

Can you post a picture?

If you haven't already cut all your triangles, cut the next one 1/4" bigger (assuming you're cutting squares and re cutting into triangles.)

I have drawn the seam allowances on triangles and diamonds - and then matched up the seams.

Some pieces have "ears" sticking out when placed together so it looks like they are lined up incorrectly -but the seam part is lined up correctly.

As other have said, a picture is worth a thousand words.

When matching odd seams, you do need to be careful of the match points. Many times one will overlap the other in a weird way that looks wrong but will get the correct seam. Check to see where your 1/4 inch seams are on both and then match them to see how they should line up.

eta: I googled the block name and this is one that I know was an old-fashioned English paper pieced block for many years. I've not see it done by machine although I am sure it can be. But do the trick above and see what you come up with!

I Googled Ozark Star & see several variations of this pattern. Which one are you using?

The best way is to make a bit bigger and trim them to the size you need.
