My Great Grandmother tried to teach me to quilt many years ago. Of course I was not interest then.
Fast forwarding many years:
The Pattern that she tried to teach me on was a Trip Around The World. I'd love to do this one.
Anyone know where I can find a pattern?

I made a TATW for my cousin. Its waiting for me to quilt it. It was a lot of fun to pick the fabrics and put together. Strip piecing definitely made the process a lot quicker. Let us know how it turns out.

How fun for you!!! I bet making this quilt brings back many wonderful memories of your quilting times together :D :D :D

Is it possible to make this quilt with 4 fabrics?

collettakay 08-03-2009 01:22 PM

I would say you can make it with any amount of fabrics you desire. I think 3 would be the least that I would make it, so 4 should definitely be good. I made mine with 6. Three browns and three aqua/teals.

I ask because I just bought 4 fabrics the other day at Joann, although I suppose I could make another run and get another fabric or two haha

I made mine with 12 colours, but I have seen some with only 4 or 5, and they look great :)

Do you have enough of the 4 fabrics to complete the quilt? If so I say go for it. If not, then I would probably add the 2 more colors to the quilt since you're going to have to go shopping anyway.
