Trying the "Asterisk" Quilt Pattern...Any Tips?
I've loved this pattern forever, so after making a bunch of quilts for everyone else, I've decided to make the Asterisk quilt for my li'l ol' self. I've made about a dozen blocks so far, and the one thing I notice is that the pattern tells me to press all seams inward when I'm attaching the strips. I'm doing that, but it is getting really bulky in the center of the star. I'm worried about what will happen when it comes time to quilt this thing. Has anyone else done this pattern before...any tips? Thanks.

I did one a while ago and I pressed inward on my seams leaving the center seam all the way across to the last. It gives a spot for all the seam allowances to go it to the center. Here's a picture of mine

Maybe they mean toward the center of the fabric?

Very pretty Tartan! Yeah...I think that I'm doing the same thing. The seam allowances seem to tuck into one another. Still, should these be clipped in some way to make them less bulky? How did your quilt up? Any problems?

I didn't try anything fancy, I just used my walking foot and quilted in the center of the sashing in all directions. It worked well stitching slowly through the centers since there was less seam allowances there.
