Both are good but as a Civil War fabric nut, I think the darker is best. When you decide and your quilt is done it will be beautiful with either!

I vote for the lighter fabric--more contrast.

Hi! I vote for the lighter one. Marcia

Something I do and I usually tell students is to open the fabrics up a bit and lay them on your bed. This way the choices will be a further apart. Leave them for the day. Every time you walk into the room, note which side you are drawn to, what appeals to you more. Both of these fabrics work, but for different reason. A problem that many of us get into is that we get into our head and overthink things. Go with your gut - which one pleases you and makes you smile.

I'm not sure if it helps with this decision, but I find that sometimes looking at them in black and white helps, as it reveals the values. So, here.
As far as my opinion, I'm on the fence, so I'm not help, sorry. :o |
I choose the lighter one. Good luck!

I like the last one in the last picture. It gives the fabrics more pop; the one on the top in last picture is just kind of 'there'.

I like the darker one as to me it blends better with the warmth of the other fabrics. The yellowish one feels more... harsh to me with those fabrics.
|
I like the pinkish one better, but that purple mat is really throwing off my perception!
|
The yellowish one.
