Hi everyone. I created a rather nice quilt top a while ago and then put it aside for months because I had no idea how to quilt it. I recently fished it out and am starting to get ideas, but I'm still a little stuck. The quilt is 22" x 26" and I will be hand quilting it, so please don't suggest pebbling!

I like the way I've patterned the waves (I'll like it less when I'm battling all those seam allowances, but hey ho), but I'm really not sure about the top part of the shell, and I have absolutely no idea how to quilt the border, which is 1.5" wide. i like you'r idea that would be perfect and my i ask is that a pattern or you own that is very pretty.

It's my own design.

I like what you've done. What about leaving the border just the way it is or possibly making the waves go all the way to the edges.
|
very pretty!

I like the waves a lot. A good friend who is a good quilter said to use curves when your pattern has a lot of angles and vice versa.
This is a beautiful top - thanks for sharing it with us. |
This is cool!

It's beautiful with the waves. What if you did a shell shape along the border that matches the shell in your design.

Very beautiful! How about cross-hatching in the borders? That would give you some angles to contrast with all the curves.
