Trying to draw this on EQ ...
I should be able to figure this out, but mathematically, it isn't coming together! My finished focus blocks will be 10" square. There will be 3 blocks on point. I can't attach a snapshot of my EQ progress (or lack thereof!) because my desktop won't connect to the internet....but that's a whole 'nother issue! Ha. This is the layout I am trying to achieve. Any help would be ohhh soooo appreciated! :) thank you!

Think I have it....just started playing with scraps! 2 1/2" square, bordered with 2 1/2" sq and 2 1/2"x5 rectangle, and 15 3/8" square cut into quarters....

I really like the looks of that block. Will look forward to seeing the finished project.

Not sure what exactly you are having trouble with, but here's how I would draft it. If the focus blocks are 10", then the smaller ones are simply quarter blocks - so 5" square. I would draft it as 5" blocks on point, 2 blocks high, 5 (or 6?) across. Then colour the 4 blocks to make your focus, and pull the "simple block" for the quarter log cabin. I'd venture 3" light blue square and 2" strips on two sides of that. The setting triangles should just fall into place.

Did you start with another block and are trying to draw it in EQ? If yes, could you post a link to the other picture? I play around a lot in EQ, but don't really understand what you are trying to tell me as to what you wanted to draw.
Edited to add: DUH....now I know where the link was. I didn't even see it the first time. |
Jill you should be able to do a screen shot if nothing else of your EQ worktable.

I would do the quilt sketchbook as 3 squares set on point and inset the pieced block into the setting triangle. You may have to rotate it is a few times to get the layout you want. It is important to mention what version you have of EQ. Different version especially the newer ones have more flexibility to do things. Your progress is looking good.
