But my dog (her picture is my avatar) thinks that it is hers and wants to lay on top of it. Does anyone else's fur baby do this?

Yes. The dogs and the cat thinks the whole process is for them:)

My cats were trying to boycott my hand quilting my son's quilt for his wedding.

My furballs like to lay underneath while I'm working on the top in my recliner. Sure gets hot in the summer though. Wintertime I stay warm.

If I watch TV I have to have a quilt to work on at the same time. My dog is a 110 pound yellow lab and she generally doesn't bother me while I'm quilting and watching TV. However, last summer I made an LSU quilt for a family member, and Haley would sit on it or lay down on it every chance she got. She hasn't bothered another one since.

Yes - when I sew the binding on my quilts, Rahja (see Avatar) and his sister 'help out' by sitting on the edge of the quilt so it doesn't get away from me while I'm sewing. Or so they tell me.

I've always had the same trouble. Even when crocheting, my cat has to sit on the doily, however small. She also likes to lay on the quilt when it's in the frame. They just like to help!
