Trying something new
 

Ok, so I'm making a baby quilt. I never made a d9p so I decided to do that. I have all flannels. I will be taking an open lab class next month that includes a turn on the long arm.

I've never worked with flannel before. Can I do the front and back in flannel? Can I put flannel on a long arm? Yes, I could ask these questions in class, but I want to start it before classes start.

Sorry if I sound dumb, but.... I guess I am. haha

I have started to make 2 baby quilts. They both will be all pieced flannel fronts.. one back will be fleece and the second back will be flannel. I don't know the answer to your question, but I am interested to hear responses.. as I seem to be doing the same thing as you.... but I don't long arm :D

No dumb questions here...we all are learning from one another, yes you can do front and back flannel and do it on the longarm...I've done several like this.

Be sure to prewash your flannel. It tends to shrink more than regular quilting fabrics. Flannels can be used for both the front and back of quilts. Keep us posted on your progress:)

What kind of batting do you use between 2 pieces of flannel? I would think it's fairly warm so maybe a thinner batting?
