Anybody been to Tuesday Morning yet? I went on my lunch hour and found several nice goodies.
nope...i forgot to list it with my errands today...thnx for reminding me...heading to town friday...will see what i can find...
so what exactly did you find...got any pics? |
No pics, but I got three fat quarter bundles, a June Tailor bobbin rack and an Ott-Lite (generic). They had lots of fat quarters, some better quality than others. I'm especially happy with the lime green/white bundles I got. Eight to a bundle for $4.99. Not bad. They also had jelly rolls (I passed on those) and one lonely pack of charm squares. There were some shirting fat quarters marked Dan River that were tempting but I somehow resisted.
I finally went to my local Tuesday Morning and they don't have any fabric or quilting supplies...So sad...glad you did well..
Maybe it's regional. I stopped in last week after getting their current flyer but they don't put out the flyer stuff until, strangely enough, Tuesday morning. ;) That's why I went today.
Forgot about Tuesday Morning and I went right by there this morning. It is a little out of the way here so I don't think about it much.
The charm squares and some of the fat quarters were terrible quality, but they did have some bundled fat quarters that were much better. I also picked up a thread rack.
The charm squares and fabric bundles are the same ones sold at Walmart but much cheaper price. The TM here has a notion wall with scissors, all of the Fons and Porter notion, Olfa cutting mats, sewing needles, Clover items, and just a general misc. hodge podge of sewing stuff. The Olfa mats are the biggest ones, for $9.99! They are kept in the rug section, laying flat like the rugs. Also I found the Oliso Iron and Rowenta irons there for 1/2 price. I found the travel steam iron on clearance for $7.99 and it's the same one as this: http://www.nancysnotions.com/product...travel+iron.do
It's always something different at TM stores every month. |
Thanks for the tip about where to find the Olfa matts. Never would have thought to look there.
I did..love Tuesday morning. It is a place you can't go to when you are looking for a particular item normally. I got 2 FQs, pink & brown quilt kit for friend who wants to learn, the spool and bobbin holders (another gift item), got the battery operated bug zapper as a gag gift, a few Easter things. A gorgeous, rather oriental looking red lamp for my red toile guest room.
My store did not have alot of sewing notions at all. Lots and lots of scrapbooking stuff. |
I stopped in today not impressed with the fabric. Prices in the store are high.
I got 2 sets of FQ's but really had to pick thru some very ugly stuff. Also got a "quilters bible" with some nice patterns, a quilt purse kit with directions and a 4" cutting square for $1, some beads, a quilt project organizer (a personal dare) and the bobbin and thread racks (covers were included). For me, it was worth it since I'm pretty new into this.
Unfortunately, our Tuesday Morning does not have quilting supplies. :-(
well now im gonna make a special trip tmw...to at least one of the tuesday mornings...
the other farther one will have to wait until friday i wonder if the ones here will carry quilting/sewing supplies...heres hoping |
Thank you for the reminder :D:D:D
I asked at my TM and they told me they didn't have any "quilting" supplies but they had "sewing stuff". It was the Fons and Porter directional pins, magnetic pin catcher, and lots of other stuff near the scrapbooking area. Thanks to the person who told us about the Olfa mats being near the rugs. Will check the next time I am there.

I have found some nifty things at Tuesday Morning and find that each one has a slightly different selection. Always fun.
Is TM a east coast thing? All I really have is Joanns and a few LQS. Oh and Wally World... Not a huge selection.

We went yesterday and found a few things of interest. I got a wonderful jelly roll and bundled fat quarters. Of course, the selection was very limited, but luckily I loved a few of the color choices. We also picked up a June Tailor Quilters Planner /Organizer that has pockets to hold patterns and plastic zipper bags to hold swatches. There's a planner printed on the front of the folders and a grid to plan quilt patterns. Pretty clever. (8.99 regular 18.99) They also have Ott lights and some great project totes.
