Somewhere in the last couple of days I saw a post where the person said Tumbler had "Y" seams. All the tumblers I have seen look like they are laid out in rows.
Someone explain? Thank you! |
If you peice them on the short side of the tumbler they will have a Y seam. If you peice them long side in rows you will have strips and can just sew the strips together.

I sew my tumblers in rows, I use my accuquilt studio to cut my tumblers and it trims off the corners so less bulk in the corners.

Heck yeah...go for the rows. Totally easier.

I think the OP was talking about the tumbling block quilt pattern that is traditionally English Paper Pieced because of the Y seams.
The tumbler IMHO is different |
