Tumbling blocks out of charm packs?
I want to do something unique out of charm packs. I've never made tumbling blocks before. Can you use charm packs to make tumbling blocks? If so, is there a tutorial?
Thanks |
I had 5 inch charm packs and I measured in an inch from the side and cut to the corner on both sides, leaving the tumbler block 3x5 afterwards. I had a template but it's easier to just rotary cut and inch in on both sides. i hope this make sense to you.

There's a ruler and a tutorial here: http://www.missouriquiltco.com/5-cha...-quilt-co.html
I've got this on my "to-do" list someday, love it! |

I didn't use charm packs for my tumbling blocks but it would probably work out fine. You would just have a bit more waste. I made my own templates and used yardage cut at (I think) a 60 deg. angle. Worked out just fine.

here's a couple of my tumbling blocks projects- you can size them any size you want- charms will work if you want-
i love doing them by hand-english paper piecing style- check out paperpieces.com for free downloadable design sheets you can print and color- and lots of info- and templates. |
I did mine EPP method too. Loved the portability. And SIL loved the baby quilt!
