Tumbling Blocks question

I recently saw a tumbling block quilt using square-in-a-square blocks. Has anyone made this quilt? Can you post a photo? Thanks.

Do you mean the Hollow Cube block like this tutorial shows? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD5K...el=CarolThelen

Not the one I am looking for, but awesome nonetheless.

The quilt I saw was definitely sq-in-sq. I've made a few blocks, but can't visualize how to put them together to form tumbling blocks. Maybe someone WITH EQ or good drawing skills can help me?

Thanks again.

Are you thinking about something like https://www.getasquiltingstudio.com/...-tutorial.html ?
Or maybe something like https://www.pinterest.com/pin/tilted...6942379559407/ which is similar but with larger square in square.

Was it like this one but the tumblers had a square in them? I played with the image a bit and came up with

None of the above. Pattern I saw was square set on point with hst in each corner. Truly a square in a square block. Triangles were gray and black, center square was a color.

Thanks again.

I'd love to see what we were looking for. Do you have a link?

It is a Jodi Barrow's Square in Square method for a tumbling block quilt. The maker of the quilt in question, Dee Dee Maker was showing the quilt she made using the Jodi Barrow's class. https://www.facebook.com/groups/6251...%20dee%20maker is the link to where the pictures of her quilt are posted. Conquering Mount Scrapmore with Brenda is the private facebook page where Dee Dee Maker posted. Unfortunately, there is a privacy rule to prevent posting pictures from the page but it looks like a normal tumbling block quilt made out of square in square blocks, center block on point and opposite corners being same color triangle (same two color triangles per square on point). I had to see it for myself cause I couldn't figure out what was going on. A big thanks to I love to quilt for the fb page via pm!

What threw me was that I didn't "see" the top and bottom rows and sides were actually flying geese and hst corners. These help offset the square in square blocks so when all sewn together it appears the blocks are tumbling.

Wesing -- Thank you! I need to get the book now. Look at what you started Ilovetoquilt/Anita!!
