After looking at a tumbling block quilt, I was wondering.....

Has any one thought of accenting either the stars or back ground a solid color? Or is it impossible?

I have posted a picture with the star outlined. IF you can see it.

The pattern can go either way, your coloration makes it stars, or blocks.

Great idea!!! You could draw in those lines in the diamonds, and piece in the outline fabrics. Very Creative!!! :D:D:D

There are a couple of books called "Not Your Grandmother's" stars or blocks that shows how to strip piece tumbling blocks and also the 6-sided star you've highlighted. They look fairly straightforward, but we've never tried them.

I don't think its impossible. as a matter of fact it could be done quit easely. Pick what area you want to be out lined, and make those dimonds a little smaler and add a very narrow trim around them, make sure after you put your trim around make sure same size as other blocks, and be careful on the placement. but it can be done. God bless. Penny...PS I would separate the star highlights a little so you could see the stars very clear, like every other.
