So I am making 2 Turning Twenty quilts for my friends kids..really cute fabric (I'll post pics when I get them all pieced).

I have seen a lot with an allover stipple pattern...but I am not sure thats what I want to do with these.

If you have made one, what did you choose? I'd love to see your choices!

Sorry, I don't know, but I'll watch this thread to see what others suggest.

I did a large, all over meander. It worked very nicely.

I haven't quilted the one for my mom yet, but the fabric was specifically themed - dogs, coffees, and cacti (oh my!) so I'm thinking perhaps in each big square (the 20x20 or however it turns out), doing dog paws or coffee mugs or cacti or the sun. And then varying the design. I need to practice my FMQ

I quilted this for another QB member....

That really pretty, Charisma. One is a bunch of really cute bugs in primary colors, and one is pink and green fabrics with cute butterflies and stuff. Maybe I could do butterflies on the pink one, dunno if my FMQ is good enough to do bugs on the bug one.

I quilted quite a few of these for my friends and did different patterns on the blocks.

My Turning Twenty quilts have always been very scrappy and bright so an overall meander was all that was required. Sometimes I've just done a SID and that worked too. For me this pattern has always meant a quilt that was going to get a lot of use and washing and it just didn't need a fancy quilting pattern.

Its not so much that a allover meander wouldn't work, its just not my favorite look...its just a personal thing. I prefer the clean look of straight lines or a specific pattern to the meander.

I am not sure how I would do straight lines in this pattern in a way that they wouldn't look odd based on how they crisscross the blocks is all.
