I have googled "turning 20 quilt pattern" but have not had any luck.... it doesn't look too hard but would like to read about the pattern, sizes etc... can anybody help me please?
|
It looks like you have to spell out the number twenty.
I googled "turning twenty" and one of the first hits was this one: http://www.fatquartershop.com/turningtwentyquiltpattern&kitstriciacribbs.asp?Url _String |
It takes 20 fat quarters to make the quilt top. A friend of mine has probably made about a dozen of them & they have all turned out very nice. She finished her Christmas one last year & instead of just quilting she embroidered in several of the squares with Christmas embroidery patterns that work with her neat embroidery machine.

I've been looking for this one myself for a while

Turning Twenty is the one I'm still quilting on for my niece. It's a terrifically easy quilt, you'll love making it. I'm not crazy about the dark colors she wanted but it's her quilt.

If you want to go by the book, you will have to purchase the pattern, there is a new one, turning twenty again. If you just want to look at pictures and do your own thing, type it in and hit images. :D

all I really need to know is the size of the pieces... I think I saw somewhere that the blocks are 16" finished.
|
Joy, I have turning twenty instructions. Would be happy to share them with you if you want -- can either mail direction you or put them in the quilting forum.

i'm not criticizing, judging or accusing anybody of anything. we're all tempted. most of us slip and share from time to time. but we can't do it here and risk losing the board. |
I am new to the board and new to posting replys so wasn't aware of the rules.

If I wanted to make this block I would start with a 9 inch block, divide it into thirds horizontal and vertical, then look at the shapes of the pieces and go from there...... a 12" block I would do the same thing, any size block that could be divisible by 3. I do not have the pattern, just saying this as an observation.

I am quilting a turning twenty right now, the fabric is flannel that was a birthday gift last summer and I used chocolate brown flannel for the backing. It is very soft, but heavy! I love this pattern and I will definitely make it again, next time for a baby quilt using smaller blocks.
this is the quilt top, not necessarily the colours I would have chosen, but now that it is together I love it. |

I love turning twenty. I just made my DD an " All about Chocolate" quilt by turning twenty around the block and I have another one I want to get started. I won a bunch of fat quaters at a retreat and I want to make one by that pattern to remember the retreat by.

I found the phamplet at my favorite quilt shop here for a very reasonable price. Check it out at your local shop.
|
You can make your own pattern. Take square pieces of paper the size of the blocks you want, using a ruler draw out your 3 shapes allowing for seam allowances Maybe you'll have your own unique quilt pattern. :D

BDor, I love your chocolate turning twenty, my favourite flavour and colour lol
