Some time ago I bought some lovely fabric to do a Turning Twenty Quilt. I bought enough to make a lap quilt using 12 fat quarters and fabric for the border. But now I want to make it win size. which means I'll need 4 more fat quarters which I'll start looking for in the same collection or something that will go well with it.

My problem is that the lap size called for 2 yds of fabric for the border and binding , which I have but the twin size calls for 2 and 1/3 yds for the border and binding. If I use some other material for the binding is the 2yds enough for the border of the now twin size quilt? The border is 6 1/2 inches.

2 yds cut lengthwise would yield plenty for a twin. You'll get six strips 6.5" wide by 72" long. That's enough to border a double bed quilt 84" wide x 100".
