Most of the time when you are looking for a specific pattern, if you enter the designer's name and the quilt name into google, you'll get a lot of pics and other info. For the next time

I put Twisted Bargello Pattern by Chris Timmins in Google and found many sites that had the pattern for sale and in stock.

Ouch! That is pretty pricey for just one pattern.

That was what I thought too. Yikes!

Onebyone 04-20-2014 10:37 AM

I've found most of the patterns I seem to like the best now are about $20 or more. But I expect a lot of pictures and step by step detailed instruction or I ask for a refund and send my complaints.

sewbeadit 04-20-2014 03:56 PM

I think they are going overboard on the price. Does quilter read "rich" or something? duh

ManiacQuilter2 04-20-2014 04:05 PM

I guess some quilters do have some money to spend. I watched pages of a pattern from a Quick Quilt magazine sold for $36.89. Ebay auction number is 251504130162 for those who want to take a peek. Patterns and fabric are just only going to go up in price. Had not seen the Bargello pattern before.

I'm sure there is a book with the same design in. This for similiar or less gives you more than one patter.
Waiting for the finished quilt

One quilt pattern designer I know told me that with EQ just about all quilt patterns can be duplicated from a picture of the quilt design so the patterns are more expensive. The only reason to have the pattern is for the instructions.

Googling shows tons of twisted bargello quilts. You may find one that you like at least as well and possibly at a more reasonably price.

The best price I could find is on this website: http://www.christimmins.com/online-s....browse/6.html

I used that pattern for a class several years ago, and if I remember correctly, she is a self publishing designer that ships from Australia. And the store couldn't just get one pattern, they had to order 10 or so at a time. So, I don't know how that effects the price, but maybe that's why it's expensive.

I think I have a book with that pattern in it

fidgety 04-22-2014 07:21 AM

Beautiful Bargello from the House of White Birches has several neat bargello patterns in it.

That pattern started at 95c but had 17 bids.

I read just recently that Chris has her patterns published herself so that explain the higher price.

johns2ndwife 04-24-2014 05:01 PM

I took a class for that same pattern 2 years ago and have yet to finish it... it's on my list of UFO's for this year ! ;)

Marsha333 04-25-2014 05:43 AM

I bought the book Twist-and-Turn by Eileen Wright and dowloaded it to my ipad for much less than that. There is one in there that looks just like Chris' and you also get 10 other Bargello quilts.

Lori S 04-25-2014 06:04 AM

That is a pattern that has been around for several years. Post an ad here , looking for some one to sell their copy.
