I love my 5" twister ruler! Only problem is if you want something larger than a table runner, etc., it takes some time. I saw a large table runner that I wanted to make as a lap quilt instead so I just doubled it. It took a long time, but was so worth it! One of my favorite quilts to date! I want to get the 10" and see how that speeds things up. Hopefully, still as cute though! :o)

I'd make my own ruler. I could use any square size I want - a local plastics company could even cut me a specific size. Then I would mark it a certain distance from each corner either with tape or some other system.

I am somewhat frugal.

AliKat, Could you share the measurements you used to mark your square? I would really appreciate it!

That quilt came out wonderfully! That is the size Twister that I want. It's on my wish list...lol! Isn't there a 2" one, also?

ETA: I found this thread discussing the itty bitty twister and there is a picture showing the size of the 2 smallest ones and you can also find where to get them (hard to find) on post #28:

I've done lots with the 5", haven't used the 10" yet. I've made large table toppers/wallhangings and candle mats with the 5".

I'd make my own too - - and use the money saved on something else :)

I just ordered the 5"twister. Can't wait to get it, but won't be able to use it until after Christmas, I've got 5 more rag quilts to make for the grandkids. I can see a few late nights coming up. :)

I have 4 sizes and love them all....the 10 inch one makes a fast quilt....a twin size from picking fabrics to quilt top completed in 4 hours...the 5 inch one is great too...lots of blocks to make a large quilt but nice visual effects...the two tiny ones are for my days when I just wanna go nuts...with itsy bitsy tiny blocks
