What is a good quick pattern for just two fabrics? I have several two color combination fabrics I had bought when I was going to make purses. I thought about making baby quilts out of them since they are about 2 yards of each color.

I'm watching this one. I want to make a quilt with just black and white and need some ideas. Thanks for creating this topic!

Isn't the Night and Day quilt two colors only?
That one is really sharp too :)

Here is a paper pieced version of it but I didn't see it originally done that way - I saw it on the Quilt in a Day tv show :) I think I saved it for another day....

Checkerboard, disappearing 9-patch or 4-patch, Drunkard's Path, Star of the East, Dutchman's Puzzle, Wild Goose Chase, Churn Dash, Square in a Square, Ohio Star, Cross and Crown, Double T, Shoo-Fly....

Gosh, it's endless. :)

Ohio Star is pretty in two colors. Most of your traditional quilt patterns are so pretty in two colors. The peppermint twist pattern is really cute in two colors, it's a four patch with alternating block it looks like an Irish chain. Pinwheels with an alternating block.

All great ideas. My first thought was Irish Chain. I love antique quilts made with 2 colors- they're awesome :)

Me too! I just bought a Wild Goose Chase top in red and white - it's really pretty, but the piecer used heavy black thread to piece it on the machine, so the seam ripper and me are going to have to get cozy for a while before I can quilt it.

Here's the Drunkard's Path that I just finished quilting.

Bernie - I just did my first Rail Fence and while checking out different quilts I saw one done in two colors and it was beautiful. I am going to do a two rail next time. It does need striking fabric though.

disregard the last reply not sure what happened there. Any way, your drunkards path is very pretty. Two color quilts rate at the top of favorites for me. The less is more kind of theory. They always look clean and fresh and vintage the way a quilt should look. I love all quilts even the ones that well, are kind of... well, you guys know. Good luck chosing your pattern. Would love to see it when you finish. And, I am sure there was a perfectly good reason why the quilter used black thread?
