Two inch binding?

does anyone use two inch wide binding? I'm finishing a quilt top from long ago and had pieced left over fabrics into a binding strip. well it turns out it's 2 inches wide. anyone use this measurement successfully?

Yes, I do when I don't have enough fabric for the 2 and 1/4. Just fold as usual and make the sew on seam one eighth smaller and it will work fine.

yes, I use 2 inch most of the time. try a sample and see if you have trouble turning it to the back. If you do, just use a scant-er 1/4 inch. (like that new word? lol)

I use 2" more often than larger- I tend to prefer my bindings to be narrow. sometimes *if I used a fairly lofty batting* I use a 2 1/4" but for thin battings I find 2" works out well.

I usually use 2-1/4" but have lots of 2" strips precut, and have used them for bindings. You do need to take a slightly narrower seam to be able to use the 2" binding.

I like thin batting and a narrow binding so I only use 2" inch binding. You should be fine if the batting isn't too high.

Whew. Ok, thanks much!

That is exactly what I use and it seems to work fine for me.

I use 2 inch most of the time for my quilts. If I making pot holders or something that is really thick I'll use a 2 1/2 or 2 1/4.

I like 2 inch to 2 1/2 for borders. I don't like real thin borders either. lol I don't like 1/4 seams. lol
If you like it, then that's what it needs to be.
