Two of My Most Valued Tools

When I started to machine embroidery and FMQ, I used these two tools: bent handled scissors and tweezers. Now I keep them at the machine and use them all the time particularly when you need to know that the bobbin thread is not getting into trouble. The tweezers will grab the bobbin thread in very close quarters when brought to the top. The scissors allow the blades to cut the bobbin thread easily as they lay flat to the project.

Anyone want to agree?

Absolutely!!! Love those items right by my machine!

Yep,yep,yep! Except I use squeezers http://www.allstitch.net/product/412...-nips-1708.cfm
instead of small scissors.

I love my bent handle scissors.

I've often looked at the squeezers but they seemed a bit short. I'll stand by my bent-handled scissors.

I don't wish this on anyone, but I learned this from a dr. If you have to have stitches removed, they have a tweezers they use and a scissors. Hey, you paid for them. Tell them you want them. Tell them it is for your sewing. Some of us have old eyes and that stitches puller is perfect for grabbing on to that thread you got 1/16' through the eye of the sewing machine needle. And then the scissors I use for clipping threads. Just a thought! Those are a couple of my favorite tools!!!! Edie

Wow that's a great way of recycling and as you said you paid for them.

Edie, that's because nowadays they make the set disposable versus the old days when they needed to be sterilized, you couldn't get them then. My go to are my embroidery scissors and my stiletto, of course there are usually other necessities nearby.

I keep a pair of 5 or 6 inch tweezers and bent scissors and a magnetic wand (to pick up pins, needles scissors
at every machine... Yep all 4 of them! I get the magnetic wands at the automotive parts stores they reach out
from 6 inches to 3 foot... also have a magnetic bowl to use on the long arm for holding pins.
