Can any UK members give me the month and year this pattern appeared in a British magazine. I think it was 2011 the year as these photos were published in 2011 in a friend's blog. Both used the same pattern with one an enlargement and the other made into a pillow case. Made by squares and half square triangles.

Not sure Dotty - I don't remember seeing it as I don't buy a lot of magazines. Would it have been for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012? Or the Olympic Games, same year? Good luck.

This pattern is actually incorrect! The white is not supposed to be equal on both sides. You'll see on the other pictures where the red 'X' intersects the white from the Scottish Saltire, one side is bigger than the other.

It's a quilt...not a flag. There's been lots of quilt based on the US flag and Union Jack
and most of them have nothing to do with the original.

Then don't call it a Union Jack.

I'm interested in this, as well. My DIL wants a quilt with this block. I can, perhaps, create it myself, but a pattern would be nice to have.

There's a free pattern on equilter.com it's 20 x 14 but you might be able to size it up.
