I told hubby about the binding thrown over the shoulder and caught under the wheels, etc.

He had a brilliant idea and bought a smaller rolling pin. I think it is about 10". We glued the drawer or cupboard puffy liner stuff around it. That way I figure I can just stick a pin through the binding and hold it to the rolling pin.

Now he has to figure out a way to mount it. I'm thinking something like a paper towel holder. It would have to have a heavy base, or be mounted to the counter.

Any ideas?

Some of the wall mounted wood holders have a slot in the side to hold the dowel.
The slot is cut at a bit of an angle, so the dowel stays in place. I don't see why this wouldn't work for the rollers handles too :D:D:D

Amma, I'm thinking along those lines, just cut some type of mount with a slot to hold the ends of the rolling pin.

I pin a plastic bag to the end of ironing board and the binding goes in as I iron the strip.
Then it comes out as I sew it on.

That's a good idea. What do you do with the plastic bag while you are sewing?

I'm using a vertical paper towel holder. it used to sit on my counter. just put an empty tube on it and wound my binding around it. comes right off as i need it.

Maybe you could cut your rolling pin in half and put a base top and bottom
to look like this big thread spool. Plus you'd have a spare. :-D
