I found a rotary cutter at Grissly for 3.99. My dh goes there to get his wood shop tools and supplies.
They don't have replacement blades but the HF ones fit. I found 4 in wood clamps at HF that I use to clamp quilt layers to edge of table when I am getting it basted to quilt. I also use metal clamps that are made to hold a picnic table cloth down at w.mart small prescription bottles work well for my bobbins. |
Lastest one I bought, at the Farm supply store a scalpel from the medical section that I use for unsewing. 79 cents.

My DH bought me a set of small pliers in a case for my handquilting which I use all the time for pulling the needle through after getting all the stitches on it.

Had a similar thread a few month back and there are 32 pages of ideas there as well. |
I use a WORM bait bag from Bass pro to keep my hand piecing organized! I actually have 3 different size bags with different projects in them.
I got a mini tape measure and telescoping magnet in neon green from the automotive store $2.50 for the pair! I also use the Newsprint paper for paper piecing, and frost cloth that Lowe's used to cover their plants and was throwing out, for a foundation on string piecing blocks! My favorite quilting notion stores have got to be staples and lowe's! |
This is an awesome discussion. Keep the ideas coming. And thanks to all who have given suggestions.
