I had a fabric shoppe in the late 80's, I had the experience of visiting a factory where fabric is wrapped on the bolts, what an experience! It's not the fault of the stores if fabric is off, warped or has defects...It's from the way the fabric is made, from wherever. When it arrives at the stores, wrapped, most bolts don't show that's it's wrapped crooked. Until it is cut it's not seen and most clerks won't take the time to check the eveness. I would always cut an extra inch when I sold my fabric, just for that reason. Hope this helps explain the problems. I always wash my fabrics before storing, and most times you can get the fabric to press out even when you fold it. Have a great day..

On the plus side, I was sent the wrong indoor/outdoor fabric, probably from fabric.com, and they sent the correct roll and said to keep the other!
I miss them.

I usually buy 1/4 yard more of what is called for, which allows for straightening up my fabric. I straighten every 3 or 4 cuts.

Yes, I've had a problem buying online from Connecting Threads. Last purchase was okay though, so maybe they've fixed it. I will say that I was very happy with a quilt kit bought on Amazon, A Postcard from Sweden by Jeli Quilts. Every piece was the correct size, as in exactly the correct size.
