Please share with me the many ways you display your quilts, not just limited by hanging on the wall. I have an old handmade cabinet, three shelves, screen wire on the door, it was painted red then green, my husband and I scrapped (only what would fall off) the paint and we varnished it to keep more from coming off. My quilts are folded up neatly in that, and in the bottom half of an antique wash stand. Need more suggestions.

I'm going to build a wood ladder to lean against the wall for my quilts. For now I have a couple of quilt racks that sit at the end of beds.

Unfortunately, I have very little room to display quilts: we live in a small house with many bookcases and doors. The house is L-shaped and the "inside" walls have floor-to-ceiling windows -- which are splendid for views but really hard to hang things on! :-D

I've yet to make anything larger than a fairly big baby quilt, so most of my things are small and I've managed to have something in nearly every room. The big space in our dining room gets swapped out seasonally, while the rest are more-or-less permanent.

My husband has a major "thing" about holes in the walls, so I hang the seasonal quilts with fish line -- I usually have a light-weight aluminum rod in a sleeve at the top; tie a loop of fish line to the ends (which are covered in painter's tape to protect the wall); then thread the fish line loop up through two widely-spaced cup hooks at the junction of the wall and ceiling. The fish line is invisible and I can hang a wide range of sizes from the same two hooks.

I have an old trunk that was my Aunt Mabel's. I have it open with quilts "falling" out of it. I love it.

Gosh -- Thanks! :) I didn't mean to hijack the "quilt display" conversation, but it just was the only picture I had of that wall and the use of fish line (which certainly is invisible from that distance! :lol: )

I designed that wall of cabinets (all IKEA, by the way) and am very happy with how they turned out. We did it the same time we renovated the kitchen and put the same counter in the DR.

I have an antique weaving loom and have one of my antique quilts on the bench. Also I have an antique quilt laying over the back of an old cane rocking chair.
