Anyone know of organization or home serving specifically unwed mothers?
Most of my quilts are baby size, usually sold, but may want to
make charity quilts next year.

I don't know of any specific organization like this, but there are always women shelter, who welcome quilts.

Hi-I'm a Project Linus Coordinator in NH, and we provide baby quilts to the Care Net Pregnancy Center. I believe they have centers throughout the US, so perhaps they have one in your area. They are thrilled to receive the quilts. Here is a link:

You could also check to see if there is a Project Linus Chapter in your area, as we provide blankets to children in crisis, and our "needs" list is always quite long. This link will take you to the chapter listings: http://www.projectlinus.org/chapter.php

Here's an organization I've donated money to. I don't know if they take quilts, but I imagine they would.

Also there is a group called Binkey Patrol for kids quilts. Like Linus but just another group

Here in No. Idaho we have Birthright, can you check in your area for pregnancy centers, they may lead you to the right place.

That is a wonderful idea. New mothers can always use something special for their baby.

Our local quilting group holds an annual "Baby Shower" for Birthright. About 25 of us donated around 130 baby quilts last year. Each new mom gets a quilt.

The Gabriel Project is a parish-based program that "adopts" mothers in crisis pregnancies and tries to provide whatever support she might need - layettes, diapers, formula, cribs, parenting classes - whatever she needs. You might have a Gabriel Project in your neighborhood.
