Ok. Well, as you know, I chose #4 for the baby quilt. Now I am working on the backing, binding, and the quilting motif. This is what I have decided on. The original stencil was too small, so I enlarged it on my printer/copier/scanner and then made a new stencil with my double bladed x-acto knife and DBK stencil plastic I ordered from The Stencil Company a while back. In-between the flower motif Iam going to have echoing chevrons to highlight the angles. Whew! I hope the plastic is easy to mark with. I haven't ever used it and it is very flexible. More updates later. I have to get it done before next Thursday so I can take it to show & tell at my guild meeting!

Here is the new cut pattern

Lots going on, but do you see where I am putting the chevrons?

was the stencil easy to cut? you did a great job enlarging it.

Actually it was. It was much easier than burning it into the other plastic. With that you have to take a razor blade and cut the lumps of melted stuff off the back so it will lay flat. Now, I don't know if it will be as easy to mark with this one. I will probably have to go slower so I don't bend the stencil and miss-mark. And thank you!

I read that you have already cut your new stencil so these suggestions are after the fact....However, in using the DBK plastic you have to leave more bridges (uncut sections) as it is more flexible.
Also, you have already discovered to put equal pressure on both blades. It is very easy to hold the cutter as you would a pencil and it twists around and doesn't cut.
It is a good way to enlarge and make the motif fit the space.
