For those of you who asked for an update and pictures, I did buy it, it is set up and ready to go. Took us about 2 or 3 hours to get it all ready and I did load a quilt and began to practice a little this afternoon. So much fun ahead I think. First practice went well. Slow and steady in my new phrase. Here are a couple pictures of my Baileys and sewing room redo.

So happy for you! Congratulations....wonder how long it will take before the room gets flooded with fabulous projects, smile. I have a Bailey Pro 17E, too. You lucked out by buying it from someone who showed you how to use it. And you can call her if you have any questions, too. No doubt she told you about the Bailey forum. Lots of good information there.

Oh she is beautiful! Being a rather new quilter I don't know a lot about long arms but I do know enough to appreciate your new gal. How lucky for you, congrats!

Congrats. Your lucky to have a room big enought for it. Enjoy.

tezell0801 06-04-2013 06:17 AM

Thanks everyone! I am excited to learn to use it. Hoping for sewing time tonight. I did try it a bit on Sunday before family came over - and had remarkably good luck! My sewing room will never be that clean again, lol. I have just swapped my grandbabies room with craft room, repainted and de-cluttered to be able to fit the machine in. I did have to give up some things I wanted, like a cutting table and ironing table, to make it fit but I think it will be worth it. I have a nice island in my kitchen I can cut on and I can use the portable ironing board as needed.
Hoping fun sewing days are ahead. My husband is easily impressed, he thinks I am doing good already, hahaha ....crazy man. At least he see my potential after shelling out so much money for a toy for me. I do feel lucky to be able to get this. I plan to retire in the next 5 years, wanted to buy it while I am working and have the money.

Marich52 06-04-2013 04:04 PM

I have a Bailey 15" and love it. I used it as a table top machine for a couple of months while my frame trolley was being resized...I loved how it FMQ'd....can't say my quilting was any better though...lol

jmoore 06-04-2013 06:11 PM

just a tiny bit jealous.... okay... really jealous but I am on the direct path of getting one of my own. Did you test drive a few before you made your final decision? what were the important components in making your decision?

Heylure 06-04-2013 07:09 PM

Congratulations. Use it in good health.

Christmas in June - good for you. Great sewing/creating/quilting room!

asimplelife 06-04-2013 07:40 PM

How exciting! I hope it exceeds your expectations.

Pepita 06-04-2013 07:51 PM

How exciting. I will bet you will be putting the petal to the metal for some time to come!

amh 06-04-2013 08:01 PM

Your room makes me green with envy. You will love your Bailey's. I've been using mine to FMQ on a table top mainly learning FMQ, but you have encouraged me to try the frame once again.
