When I first joined, I was in the process of turning our basement into a sewing studio...................it was being shared by my husbands weight machines. I am happy to announce that as of today, the weights are finally gone and the room is now ALL MINE!!!!! I guess my method finally worked as his machines were finally pushed so close together in a corner of the room he really had no choice! Now I have room for that long arm quilter that's on my wish list! 8-)

Connie in CO 10-11-2011 04:24 AM

Isn't it nice to have a place all your own.Connie in CO

Chris Penna 10-11-2011 04:25 AM

Absolutely!

Glassquilt 10-11-2011 04:25 AM

Pushing his machines together just made it easier for him to move out.

craftybear 10-11-2011 04:26 AM

CONGRATS!! I am waiting for the day I do not have to share with the home office. Lets see, daughters a junior, next a senior, maybe a few more years after that she will stay home (or I will kick out), yep, 2015 I will have my own room!

quiltinggirl 10-11-2011 04:55 AM

Sounds like you have a wonderful space now to make it your own! :)

You are so lucky. Wish I had a place to just leave my stuff out to sew.

Great-great granny 10-11-2011 05:22 AM

Just curious - what happened to hubbys equipment? Does he get a 'space' to call his own? Hope he didn't end up feeling like he's being pushed out

How exciting for you! I took my husband to the quilt expo in Chantily, VA. He has volunteered to give up his man cave so I can buy a long arm!!!

Tweety2911 10-12-2011 03:59 AM

Congrats on winning your very own space!

I went on a nine day vacation to Boston. Have a 14' x 24' sewing room all set up. Needed some rearranging when I got home. No biggy. Outcome! My GD is moving in with me for awhile to help her finances and her 83 year old Gram. Good for both of us. However, she had to clean out two bedrooms for her stuff. My sewing room now looks like a tornado hit it. I can't find ANYTHING. But I still love her.

stitchengramie 10-12-2011 04:08 AM

Enjoy your sewing room.

Happy Tails 10-12-2011 04:41 AM

God love ya, that's awesome - I lost my whole basement when my daughter moved back home...but yano as much as I miss my rooms, I'm so happy to have her, so I'm confined to a 10 x 12 or something small lol

Happy Tails 10-12-2011 04:42 AM

LOL I hear ya!!!

grannypat7925 10-12-2011 03:51 PM

Great planning! Enjoy!

conniescretions 10-12-2011 04:40 PM

My husband gave me his 2 car garage for my sewing room. He put 2 windows & a full glass door. I have already run out of space, but I love it. He's a great husband.

audsgirl 10-12-2011 09:20 PM

Good for you! We all need a place to call our own. My husband has a room where he practices singing and playing his Native American flutes. He calls my room a studio, but I'm not sure I qualify for that illustrious title!

Teach 10-13-2011 08:10 AM

That's great! I so appreciate my sewing room upstairs!
