Well ladies, I was there when the doors opened this morning at the Georgia Quilt Show, and I must say I'm glad I went. It was a really pleasant, relaxing morning. I took my time with the vendors, letting everyone demonstrate their wares, trying some of the longarms and just generally enjoying myself. The quilts were beautiful and part way through I really did just want to leave & go quilt! My only purchases were a Bloc Loc ruler, a spool of Presencia thread and a jellyroll of gorgeous silks from a company called Stitch in Time. I have amazing powers of self denial! Thanks to all of you who encouraged me to go. I may be most proud of successfully navigating Atlanta morning rush traffic!

I knew you'd love it. Glad you went.

Going to shows gets my creative juices flowing. Glad you had a good time.

I love to go to quilt shows. Much more fun to go with friends than by yourself, but I've done both. I walk around the quilt displays with envy, admiration and inspiration. Some things I love but know that I will never attempt, and some I take pix of to try at some point, after retire maybe? LOVE visiting the vendors.

I went today and loved it! I saw some of the most beautiful quilts I've ever seen! Forgot my camera and don't know how to load from my phone. Hopefully someone else will think ahead. I got some batiks from Sew Batiks (I've ordered from them before on line). Bought two patterns for wall hangings that we're just to cute to pass up. Bought a book "ABC 3-D" by Marci Baker and a new cutting mat 32x60. Stayed until they did the drawing for the door prizes but didn't win. I tried out the Handi Quilter 16 and loved it. I actually did quite well for someone who's never used a LA machine.

Oh, Atlanta traffic is horrible! Worse the NYC, Boston and LA. I was stuck in Atlanta traffic with my then 5 year old granddaughter in the back seat in her car seat. Wailing very 30 seconds " I've got to Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I got to Peeeeeeeeee! Fun times! LOL Oh I bought a new car seat!:D

Good for you...so glad you chose to go. Can't believe that you have so much will power when it came to your "goodies"! But, I've seen where people go and buy a ton of new gadgets, get them home and seldom if ever use them. Mostly, I look forward to the inspiration I get from seeing all of the beautiful quilts. Kudos to you, especially, for navigating the rush hour traffic...sounds like it was well worth it. :-)
