Just went to crafty site to see the " updated" version of the pattern. It states sizes for up to double......ok, but for anything larger than kiddie - original version - those strip panels, in my mind, would need some anchoring along the way or I would imagine the "lumping" when washed and handled would be disastrous. I wonder if the new pattern addresses that......if anyone has it can you tell us? I think if I were to go bigger, I would channel quilt those panels as I added them....JMHO

I use a variation of her instructions all the time. I have a routine of always topstitching along the joining seam so do not have any "lumping"". I started doing that a long time ago not because of lumping but as a extra bit of security to keep a seam from coming loose.

I love her technique for quilt as you go. I use it for rows but do tend to keep my rows somewhat narrow (8 inches or so) since they are easier to handle on my sewing machine.
Here's one I did using the technique...http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...ml#post6727514
