thanks for all this good infor...I'm going to put minky backing on a quilt for a teenager now that I've read this. I wanted to put flannel or something warm on it...this will do the trick.

Don't forget to give your machine a good cleaning after sewing with the minkee...lots of minkee lint

I used minky on the back of a baby quilt that I had longarmed. It seemed to work fine because the quilter knew how to load it on the quilting frame. I did find that it was difficult to hand sew the binding on. The needle didn't want to go through the minky very easy.

Thinking ahead to the next time ... perhaps sew your binding on the back, and flip to the front where the cotton is and not have to deal with the minky when hand sewing.

thanks to all of you for your great ideas and sharing your experience. I will be heading over to Jo-Ann's today to make use of that 60% off coupon to get the minky and basting spray!
