My blades come in a little plastic case. I put masking tape on one side to mark the used ones and then put them back into the case. When the case is full of used blades, I put it in the trash.

Marcia

This is exactly what I do, works for me

I put mine in a Lysol wipes container with needles & such & dispose when needed. I have also used a small plastic laundry detergent bottle when I had a lot of needles due to my dogs diabetes. But after she passed I use a smaller container. I tried several years ago to sharpen them but the sharpener I bought was worthless so I don't even bother with that anymore. I haven't heard anything good about any of the newer sharpeners either so I feel it is just a waste of money

I recycle mine in our recycling program, all metal, glass, paper go together once every two weeks.

I have yet to hear of anyone who has had luck with those sharpener things. I buy my blades online, in bulk, and keep a used (but clean!) cat food can in the bottom drawer of my sewing cabinet. I throw all the blades, needles and bent pins in it. When full, I put it in a ziplock bag and throw it out.

I do as Marcia and Granny 67 does. Works for me too!

Another idea is an empty plastic bottle. Just cut a slit where it widens out and make like a piggy bank. Most blades fit.

I made another one out of an empty coffee can with the plastic lid. I just taped the lid to the can and put a slit in the lid. People were putting the used blades in the garbage, not such a great idea.

Do you mind sharing where you buy your blades online? I'm sure that would be the most cost effective way.
