I've made 4 or 5 Spicy Spiral runners. Just don't lose any blades behind the sewing machine.

I have the short and long version I bought years ago when it was called Marilyn Doheny's 9 degree circle wedge ruler I was a beginner quilter and my big circle had a big poof. LOL I kept trying and after several big circles I got a flat one. I used the poof ones to cover old upholstered step stools.
I now use the Go wedge die.

What is confusing me is after you sew 9 strips(21/2 inch) together they measure 20.5 inches. Instructions read to place ruler at 22 inch mark a cut wedge. I don't have 22 inches.

Are your strips WOF? As I remember when I used mine, we made a strip set of WOF cuts and then cut with the ruler perpendicular to the strips. That would mean that you would have a set that was 21 1/2 inches x 45 (or whatever your WOF is). I think that is where the 22 inch mark is meant to be.

Look at your ruler (mine is the 10 degree). The numbers start at 3 and go to 25 so there is a 22 mark, but it doesn't mean 22 inches. It would be 19" from the edge of the fabric.

Yes I have used it; I have several wedge rulers. I've made the spiral table runner; very cool look. Was over 20 years ago and no picture. Take your time and enjoy the process.

This video demonstrates using the 10 degree ruler to cut pieces of fabric. The 22 you are looking for should probably be lined up with the edge of the fabric to cut the wedges. If you cut them as the 22 at the top of your strip the first time, then put the 22 at the bottom, the next time, you will have alternating wedges of your strip colors to give the quilt a much greater variation.

You correct. Directions say place ruler at 22 mark. If I place it at 22 mark the top of ruler extends beyond fabric an inch. Have checked seam allowance and strips.
