Using Embroidery Machine Designs for Machine Quilting

I guess this question is for anyone that uses their embroidery machine to quilt their quilt.

I am looking for some outline designs (sort of like a simple redwork design) where it would be just the outline stitched. I am doing a baby quilt and want to quilt my plain blocks with designs, but don't want filled in or appliqed blocks.

Looking for baby theme designs, bear, duck, bottle, etc. I can't seem to find any that are just the outline, everything has such thick stitching or alot of details in the design. Anyone know of a source for something like this?

Thank you

You might look in Embroidery Library under redwork or quick stitch. Also I think there is an Anita Goodesign collection for nursery quilts....Good luck.

They have quite few to choose from. here is the crazy quilt I made for a baby using vintage hankies and that embroidery..

There are so many sites out there with these. Hatched in Africa has some freebees if you order at least $5 in designs. I went to their trunk show and their designs are great and not to dense for clothing
http://hatchedinafrica.com/
Oregon Patchworks is great because it represents alot of sites and has daily specials

emblibrary.com is also great; they also have kenny's corner and project and tutorials to help you if you need more info.
I just discovered this one yesterday. Great sale. We are doing the lady rose in class tonight
www.AnnaBoveEmbroidery.com

I think that now most sites offer quilting designs.
I hope these sites will help you get started.

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. I think I am looking for something that does not exist. I just want outline stitching, something like a picture from a childs coloring book, simple.

But I sure enjoyed looking at all these sites. I am not giving up. LOL

coloring book pages should be easy to digitize. there is a free download for digitizing. stitch era i think its called. it is fairly easy to use.

Embroidery Library has 103 pages of designs that come up when you search for "quilting". .I think
that about 1/3 of these are actually the quilting designs, not embroidered block designs. They are for borders, different block sizes, corners, etc. Surely you could find something that you could use. Or maybe not. Good luck.

Why not try a coloring book for your pattern and go from there?

It does exist. I think all of the suggested sites have some. Please don't forget that most designs when about finished... do an outline stitch that really berings the design to life. If you advance to that point...Wala...there is your outline design.

I love her designs, I never had a bad stitch out from any of them, and I have used many of them. Her machine quilting design collections are near the bottom of the home page.

While I'll admit these are really pretty, I'd go bonkers doing them since they are only 4 x 4. I'm surprised they aren't offered in larger sizes.

I see Adorable Designs just came out with some cute outlined baby designs that can be used for quilting.
