using excel to make quilt pattern?
 

I know there are some users out there that uses excel to make a quilt pattern. I have a question for you and hopefully someone can help me. How do you input color into the squares on a diagonal without having to do each square by itself? Is there anyway I can do a diagonal row all at once?

Use the INSERT pull down from the menu then select "SHAPES" where you will find all sorts of shapes that can be filled.

If I understand what you are asking.... You can hold the control key down and click on each cell you want to color the same color. Then click on the color you want to use to fill.

I have done the suggestion that you were given many times. Also I have done a screen shot of the fabric I am using then I resize that to the desired size. After I have it the size I want then I can make copies of it as needed. I think this will only work for squares and rectangles though. But it really helps me get a feel for how the fabrics work together

You can use format painter too.

An interesting note. I was selecting a Sudoku page in my Sudoku book and to my astonishment the placement of initial numbers created a great quilt pattern.
