Using Fat Quarters
I have a lot of fat quarters and want to make a lap quilt. Need suggestions on a pattern to use with these fat quarters. Some are in packs of six different colors. Have been making prayer quilts using the log cabin design and this has worked great. My DH thinks I need a new design.:o

What about a turning twenty or I think it is called Stir Fry by Black Cat Creations.

I have the exact same problem. I have a lot of FQs that are 6 of a line. I don't know what to do with them either. They don't match at all. I don't even know if they'd look good in a scrap quilt.

Smaller pieces of various leads me to scrap quilts. There are lots of ways to do that. Cut them in strips and do Rail Fence. Cut the strips longways and sew into panels, then cut 60 degree triangles out of them. Sew those together up^, down, up, down. It's busy but beautiful.

Yellow Brick Road is the first one that pops into my mind :)

fat quarters are a good size for making french braid quilts too

Nine patch.

I usualy buy one basic fabric of 2-3 yds and use my scraps with it. Some how that ties them all together and it becomes a nice scrap quilt. I also check Bonnie Hunters site www.quiltville.com and come up with many ideas for using fat qtrs etc.

Yellow Brick Road is what comes to my mind to!!!

I'm loving disappearing 9 patch these days. It's so easy, and uses colors nicely. Since block size doesn't matter, you can do any size that would best utilize the dimensions of a fat quarter. Lynn

You could try Creme Brulee:

How about a Take Five.....would work well with "coordinating fabric line" Pattern can be found on web with a search

I used fat qtrs to make a "Jewel Box" quilt by Eleanor Burns. I made two different colored ones. They came out fantastic!! It does well with scrappy as well as jewel tones!
