Hi, everyone! I have a question. Has anyone ever used polyester felt for batting? I got a good deal at Walmart and bought it thinking I could use it that way. But, after thinking about it , I am afraid it may be too stiff or maybe too hard to sew through. If so, should I wash it first,( black, red blue)? Would appreciate all thoughts. Thank you in advance!

even though it's poly, i would be afraid of the color bleeding. probably should test for that. i've never used it in quilting.

I don't know about the batting part, but have you check it for bleeding? I seem to remember felt bleeding a lot.

If it doesn't bleed, I might consider it for a wall hanging. The stiffness wouldn't matter to me on the wall.

That is why I asked about washing first. Don't want it bleeding through the quilt!

Polyester felt will not bleed.

I would be concerned on how well it would hold up :D:D:D

is it craft felt- or is it fleece???
fleece is fine to use in quilting-
craft felt does not launder well at all- before using it- wash it- that will tell you if it's washable or not.

I would be afraid....very afraid!!! Color, shedding, shredding, stiffness....I could go on! I don't think it's a good choice for that.

I'd pass on the felt! JMHO~

Ok, thanks. Guess I will find another use for it.
