Do any of you use the monogram stitch on your machine (I recently bought a Janome 6600) to make your quilt labels? My first pass at this (using pretty much the default settings) was not very satisfactory...

Thanks so much!

I own a janome 6600 and have never really been satisfied with the alphabet stitching on it, everything else, Im still after 3 years over the moon about, but the letters never have been great.

I too have a 6600 and it monograms great! You have to read the manual and follow it for good results. GG

I did some experimenting today and ended up with two quilt labels that are okay. I used a lightweight stabilizer, which seemed to help. I'll attach pictures.

In one, I used the script font with regular (all purpose) thread...found I liked it better using upper and lower case, so I didn't have to clip between every letter and it actually looks kind of handwritten (well, maybe that's a stretch). It's not very bold, but I was okay with subtle.

For the other one (my grandson's flannel quilt), I used a machine quilting thread (so heavier weight than the other) ... it came out bolder. As you'll see, I used the print (not script) font, so I did have to clip between letters.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the results.

I use my embroidery software for my Pfaff to make quilt labels and it works great. I have three different monogram programs so I can usually find one I like.

You know you are doing a good job of convincing me to upgrade my "little" Janome to one of those 6600!

Both labels are very nice!
