I'm practicing now. Someone posted on here that she used the rubberized shelf liner instead of the Stable Tape. Don't remember if she said how she attached it. Maybe double faced tape. Naturally I can't find the post.

Just found what I needed.

Your age isn't the problem . . .that's a rotary cutting ruler and should absolutely never, ever be used for FMQ . . .and the foot you're using isn't meant for FMQ either. ☺️

Could you direct me to this? I have purchased the foot & rulers from Westalee and the Craftsy class-I'm trying to gather as much information as I can. Thanks!

I've wondered about using these rulers, too. Seems like it would be so difficult to do while wrestling a bed size quilt through your machine. The videos I've seen are always done on small practice pieces. Wondering if anyone as successfully used them on a large quilt.

I don't feel up to speed for using them on the machine yet, but I love the thickness and sizes for outlining for FMQ.

I don't do fill-in or close all over stitching as I like neither, so these rulers are ideal since they come in a bunch of sizes unlike stencils.
