Hello, everyone! I went to the Vermont Quilt Festival twice last weekend and was blown away by the special exhibit of 67 applique quilts by Marjorie Lydecker and her students. Right on the spot I bought 23 fat squares, a pair of German scissors and some thread, pins and other quilting notions.

I went home and started a blog to keep myself organized, and began to plan. I'm making an appliqued quilt so l will be lurking here, looking up techniques, learning new terms, taking it all in.

If you want to see what I have accomplished in a few days (found, cleaned and oiled my old featherweight), you are welcome to check my new blog listed after signature. It highlights the design inspiration for the quilt. I'll be posting all my ups and downs in this fabulous journey. I hope I have not bitten off more than I can chew!

Thanks, everyone. I've fixed my signature blogspot and it works now. I learned that when I set up my blog, I misspelled "quilt" and left off the "t". Oh, my. But the signature link works now. So I'm going to edit the orginal post and remove the link in the message body.

And I rebuilt the blog :D and now "quilt" includes the letter "T." I can spell!

I think that's wonderful! I took a class with her at the quilt museum in Lowell, MA a few months ago and started a project right afterward myself. I haven't worked on it for a while now, but want to get back to it since seeing her again at the festival and seeing her students work as well. I love what she does!
