I went to the Vermont Quilt Festival yesterday. There were approximately 311 quilts on display. There had to be at least 50 vendors if not more. Everyone looked a bit zombie like~overwhelmed by all the choices at the various booths. There was a very good turn out for a Friday. It continues today and tomorrow. I bought a little bit of fabric. Probably should have bought more but I was just so overwhelmed by choices.

what fun!!! I wish I was able to go, we had talked about it but the distance and life in general kept me at home.
glad you had a great time.

we went once a long time ago. Back when they held it in Northfield, non-AC hall and it was always the hottest weekend of the summer.

The thing I remember was they had a display of vintage quilts. I had picked up in my travels (used to buy and sell antique quilts) a red-embroidery on white quilt top but with a charming folksy look - like hand drawn. At the VQF I saw a similar quilt but obviously made from the commercial stamps that were sold at the time. I realized my top must have been made by someone who could not even afford the few cents each block would have cost, and who copied them from the originals, thus the hand-drawn look.

Like, how did they know in advance to schedule it every year on a scorching weekend! We were always on line by 8:30AM and usually finished up at the vendors up the hill around 1PM. ;-)
Still, always an enjoyable show. ;-)

I know what you mean. Sometimes its so hard to focus when there's so much.
