Very Important!!
I located the source of the Trojan virus that is appearing on this site. It is embedded in one of those roll-over ads. I started with a clean computer this morning. This is the only site I have visited so far today. Didn't click on any links. Accidently allowed mouse to roll over one of the ads while page was reloading. There it was. Don't know which Roll-Over ad it was, but I quickly shut down my machine and ran anti-virus program and the Trojan was there. (This Trojan causes your machine to load slowly, hang up, amongst other things. Hope this helps - |
Thanks for the info!

Follow-up:
If you suspect a trojan virus be careful as to what site you visit for help. Many sites that offer help are links to virus, etc themselves. Use only a reputable (well-known site) for info and help. (If your antivirus program doesn't kick it off your computer). Definition of Trojan Virus Trojan - A program that has been designed to appear innocent but has been intentionally designed to cause some malicious activity or to provide a backdoor to your system. |
that happened to me as well.......... good info, thanks!

I have a little netbook that I use and for the past 2 days it has been really slow. I mentioned it to my husband last night and he figured there was probably a virus. This site and yahoo email are the only sites I use on the netbook so I probably also rolled over one of the ads. I don't have any virus protection on it but will load today and run a scan. Makes me want to get a Mac sometimes.....

how can you get a virus by just rolling over an ad? It has to actually be installed (downloaded) on your PC, doesn't it?
I know whenever something is downloading or trying to, I get a message box (Firefox). |
thanks!

Appreciate the heads up!!! I sometimes do the same thing without even wanting too lol I run a sweep about once a week with my anti-virus program. I am sure hoping that it helps to prevent this. cheryl
