Viking 18 x 8 mega quilter

Does anyone have experience with this machine and frame? I may have an opportunity for one and am curious.

I have a Husqvarna Viking Mega Quilter. My frame is called New Generation. I've had it for 8 years and I really like it.

I had one with an Inspira frame. It is a rebranded TinLizzie 18 LS. I really liked the machine itself: it stitched well, the tension was easy to set, and it would accept any thread. I had lots of issues with the stitch regulator, however, also made by TL. This is a common problem with this model. I just gave up and learned to stitch without stitch regulation. The frame is pretty sturdy, but the rails are aluminum and do flex a bit. You won't be leaning on the belly bar. Also there is no dead bar, so you have to raise the take up bar when you advance the quilt. Not difficult, but you need to be able to get to both sides of the frame. I didn't have enough room, so I had to be a bit of an acrobat to get to one side. Also, the bobbin winder is integrated with the machine. If you have 2 spools of thread it's great, if you are using one, not so much. I got a stand alone winder early on. I had the machine for about 5 years and traded it in on a HandiQuilter.

I have the 9x9, it works great. Its up for sale only because I ended up with too many machines and not enough space. Its a real work horse. If the 18 is like the 9 you have to oil it daily though
